Jess Walker

Jessica Walker joined the Stage Door - Performing Arts Academy Ltd team in 2018

She is highly skilled as an actress, experienced in contemporary, classical and musical theatre singing, and trained in jazz, ballet, tap dancing - Jess is a true ‘Triple Threat’ performer. Jess knows the value of performing arts education for children, having fallen in love with performing through drama club at school herself. Jess went on to sit solo speech and drama exams for many years, and also attended weekly after school classes at Stage Coach - an outfit similar to Stage Door! Jess spent three years studying Musical Theatre full time at Arts Educational Schools London, gaining a BA Hons Musical Theatre degree. Soon after graduating, Jess landed the principal role of ‘Killer Queen’ in the Queen musical We Will Rock You. She played the role for 12 months before moving ‘down under’ to live in Whakatane. Jess is our Singing Class Tutor, a teacher of 1:1 Singing Lessons, a senior tutor in our Musical Theatre Classes.

Jess took to the stage as Donna, the leading lady in Theatre Whakatane’s 2019 sell out production of MAMMA MIA.
