Simone Ashton

Simone became involved with Stage Door back in 2015 when her three sons started Stage Door Musical Theatre Classes & has been sprinkling glitter around ever since! Simone has been involved in all areas at Stage Door, but can most often be found weaving her creative magic in our costume department.

Simone has a background in Production Design for both theatre and film and has strong ties to the establishment of BOP Films within the region. She has worked on NZ films Z-Nail Gang and The Breaker Uppers, and has taken on the role of Production Manager for many Theatre Whakatane and Stage Door shows. She has also worked as a Producer in both television and theatre touring. 

Simone runs local event company Noble Entertainment. Between being a mum, running events and her other mahi, downtime is a precious luxury for Simone! When it does happen, she loves nothing more than reading books or scripts and hanging out with her menfolk.
