Classes
Our clever Mezzo students did fantastically this week.
Unfortunately Emily our class tutor was off sick this week.
Students spent their session with Stage Door principal Trace Tidd instead.
Trace was impressed to see and hear how well the Mezzo class were working together.
Individually and collectively they are making a wonderful sound.
After warming up their voices the class did a great job of singing through each of their current class songs:
- Count On Me
- Pepeha
- Glorious
For our wrap up today the class shared their 'why' for being in singing classes.
It was lovely to hear everyone's answers and so refreshing to hear young ones expressing such a love for music, singing and connecting with people through this beautiful art form!
Homework this week is to keep working on the Solfege hand signs that Emily has been teaching.
Emily has also been encouraging students to establish a personal practice routine at home, and suggests that this might look like:
* Making time to practice 2-4 times per week for 15-20 mins.
But…don’t worry if that isn’t always possible - Even one practice session will make a great difference!
* Start with a warm from our collection of class warm-ups (availble on this page)
* Review each of the class songs, by practicing the melody, rhythm, and lyrics.
* Most importantly: Have fun with your singing!
A reminder that the Mezzo class resources (tracks, backing tracks, lyric sheets and the warm up resource) can be downloaded from this page.
To do this, click on the song/resource name, found on the right hand side of the page above the tutor photo.
Have a fantastic week this week Mezzo music lovers!
