TERM FOUR

Throughout the year our Shooting Stars class have been working on four different songs, which they will ultimately present at our Musical Theatre End of Year Showcase performances at the end of this term, on Saturday November 23rd 2024 (scroll down for more information about our 2024 Musical Theatre Showcase). 

TERM ONE SONG
When I Am Older - from Frozen II, written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez
This fun song is sung by the quirky snowman character Olaf in Disney's 2019 animated feature film, Frozen II and is about Olaf's belief that though he is scared of the magical elements in the Enchanted Forest, he expects that he is a grown up he  will understand them better and know that they weren't so scary after-all. Our lovely Shooting Stars are excited to get to partner up with one of our senior Musical Theatre Classes to perform this fun number. 

TERM TWO SONGS
1. It's Possible - From 'Seussical' with music by Ahrens and Flaherty
Seussical is a musical comedy based on the many children's stories of Dr. Seuss. The musical's name is a portmanteau of "Seuss" and the word "musical".
Our song fun song talks about how - by using our imagination - anything is possible!

2. Showcase Finale: When I Grow Up - from Matilda, The Musical, by Tim Minchin
During Term Two all Musical Theatre Classes started work on our 2024 Musical Theatre Showcase Finale 'When I Grow Up'. This fun number was the first song that the composer wrote for the hit musical Matilda and speaks of the children's desire to grow up and make their own decisions. In it they imagine a time when they will be strong enough to carry the burdens forced upon them and to flush out monsters from under the bed. With over 100 students involved, we look forward to all of our Musical Theatre Classes combining together to perform this song as our 2024 Showcase Finale Song!

TERM THREE SONG
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, by the Sherman Brothers
During Term Three our Rising and Shooting Stars Classes are working together on this fun song. 
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the title song from the 1968 musical fantasy film of the same name.
